Frequently Ask Questions

Do cats really need to be groomed?

If you licked yourself all over, would you consider yourself clean? Assuming you said no… we would like to meet you!

In all seriousness, cats lick their own butt holes and then proceed to lick the rest of their bodies… don’t be the person with a smelly kitty.

Cats need to be bathed to remove grease, dander and dandruff as well as reducing dead coat, hairballs and matting.

What if my cat has never been bathed before?

We all start somewhere and contrary to popular belief, cats don’t hate water they hate being submerged. Our bathing process is a relaxing, stress free and encouraging experience for your cat which will see them relaxing into the massage with slow blinks and head bops by the end of it.

Will grooming reduce shedding?

Absolutely! Our bathing process will actively release the hair follicles allowing any dead coat to slide out, significantly reducing shedding at home. You will get optimal results for your cat on a 4 weekly schedule if shedding is your main concern plus an added extra is they will smell delicious all the time.

How do you work with anxious, spicy or timid cats?

Our staff are highly trained to handle all temperaments and behaviours displayed by cats in our care. Our cat mobile is purpose built to be a calming environment, we use Feliway diffusers, we have enrichment resources, and we will meet and greet you and your cat on our first appointment day to have a chat and assess your cat’s temperament. This meet and greet appointment allows us to see if we are a good fit for your cat and how your cat will go in our mobile salon before committing to a full groom. If your cat is unable to be groomed by us due to i.e. aggression or stress, we will recommend other alternative options for you on the day.

My cat has underlying health issues, can they still come for spa days?

Yes, of course! They are more than welcome to come for their regular spa day, and this may even help to prevent further ongoing health issues relating to skin and coat. We do require full transparency on medications, diagnosis, previous surgeries, osteo arthritis etc before their grooming appointment commences in-order to tailor our services to accommodate for additional needs to ensure the health and safety of your cat. If we see any issues during your cat’s grooming appointment that are of concern to us, we will let you know and in turn will ask to see proof of a veterinary certificate before their next grooming appointment. For our geriatric cats (10 years and older) we ask to see an annual vet check report.

If you are coming to my place, do I still need to bring my cat in a carry cage?

Yes, we ask that all clients safely secure their cat in a carry cage to transport them to and from the mobile salon.

What do you require from us during the appointment?

We will need access to power and water from an external supply i.e. your front garden water tap and your house’s external power board during your appointment.
